Cuantos sueños ha inspirado nuestro vecino, ¿no es cierto? Y ahora que está tan cerca, que brilla tan intensamente sobre el oscuro telón del cielo nocturno parece que esos sueños se agitan más inquietos que antes.
No puedo dar más datos objetivos que los que ya han dado El Pez, Rvr y Mr Pawley (y tampoco es mi intención, ¿para qué mentir?). También otros se han referido al tema, como JR, Icapote o los Microsiervos. Y yo también quiero ofrecer mi pequeño homenaje particular a la musa de arena roja que ha inspirado a gente como H. G. Wells, Greg Bear, Kim Stanley Robinson (a cuya trilogía sobre este planeta ya me he referido anteriormente) y Ray Bradbury, por citar algunos. Por descontado, si recordais más, no dudeis en hacérmelo saber, siempre es bueno descubrir nuevas lecturas.

The Planet Mars.

TOGETHER we sat in the summer night,
An August night with a wealth of stars)
And we marked where it gleamed so redly bright,
The Planet Mars.

We spoke of the cruel wrongs of earth,
Of the host of evils that greed unbars;
And then we spoke of another birth
In the Planet Mars.

And we wondered if each would know the name
Of the other, up there, amid the stars,
And we said we hoped they would be the same
In the Planet Mars.

Of life and of love amid the stars;
